$1730!  Finally starting to feel like I am making some progress on this fundraising!  I received a couple of nice donations from some local businesses that helped me get to this point.  I've still got a long ways to go though.  I officially ordered my Bike & Build bike.  I am pretty excited about it.  I mean who doesn't get excited about a new bike!  I'll have some actual pics up once I get it, but here is a shot from the Giant website.

Pretty ain't it?!?

So that's how my fundraising is going (please donate if you haven't!!)

Now for my riding lately.  I got a great mountain bike ride in on Sunday afternoon at my local trails (Sportsmans Lake).  They aren't anything fancy, but some really nice singletrack with short twisty climbs and descents.  Definitely makes the most of the land.  I managed to get in a little road ride yesterday, it was just perfect weather.  Hoping to get a couple more rides in this week.  Definitely getting a long road or mountain ride in after work on Saturday!  Time to starting piling on the miles, only 3 months til its go time.

Dad and I are going skiing next week.  I am pretty stoked.  Next to riding bikes, snow skiing is the deal for me.  I love it.  2 years ago I was lucky enough to live in Utah for a few months during one of my co-op terms and was able to really get in a ton of skiing.  It was awesome!  I'm hoping to get out to Utah for some skiing and/or mountain biking before this summer.

Ogden Skiing Awesomeness!

I'm one of those specs towards the top!

Skiing counts as training right??

Completely off topic funny video:

I was way off!!

But anyway, I hope everyone is having a good week and enjoying the awesome weather (at least in Alabama).  Remember to donate!

I really do hate having a cold.  It's like you're not really that sick, but you don't feel like doing a lot of stuff and you're pretty gross to look at.  The red nose, the snot, watery eyes, overall just not a very pleasant look.  Start coughing for a while and your voice will start to sound like a 89 year old woman whose smoked 3 packs a day her whole life.  So at that point you look and sound horrible, it's just a bad deal.  Colds suck.

So naturally I haven't really ridden in about a week.  If I had a cold and it was warm, then there would have been a chance.  However it has been downright too stinkin' cold (by Alabama standards, well I guess 18 degrees is cold anywhere).  If I was still at Auburn I'd be riding my bike to class still.  I always preferred riding to walking.  I would bust out the toboggan and heavy gloves.  I'm too lazy right now to ride my bike in to work, which is a shame because I'm quite capable and it's not a bad ride.  I even could shower here.  Something about that cold morning air and getting up a half hour earlier is holding me back... Guess I need to man up.  But man... Those dang heated seats in the car tend to call my name.  I need someone to start busting my chops and tell me to man up and ride.  Is it weird to ride a bike to work if your job is selling cars?...

So on the fundraising front... up to $930!  Which is good, not great.  So if you're still holding back on your donation, feel free to use some of that income tax return you just received to help make a difference in the world.  Any size donation is appreciated, but come on, there's no need to hold back!  Anyway, seventy more bucks and I'm at the $1,000 milestone.  So I've got that going for me, which is nice.  (see following video if you don't get that last line)

And just because I love Caddyshack, here's one more

So it's Valentine's day??  How about that.  Happy Valentine's Day everybody.

Check out the sexiest bike I've seen in a while:

I have been a fan of Niner for a while, and they keep impressing me with the new products they are putting out.  They've been really going all out with all the RDO stuff that's been released lately.  So if anyone decides they want to make me a really happy boy, I'll take a medium in green with the full xtr build and color matched SID.  Thanks...
